Champagne is a revered wine but it is a costly wine, for many reasons, and is limited to a very limited region. This has lead to a range of 'Cremant' wines - which are Champagne-method wines made from the other regions around France. Same grapes, same style but often half the price for very similar quality. Louis Picamelot is oft known as one of the greatest Cremant producers in France. Based in Burgundy, he producers wines that are just as concentrated and complex as many a Champagne.
