This pack allows for you to explore the fantastic ancient wine-producing nation of Georgia all through one of its shining stars: Pheasant's Tears.
1 X Rkatsiteli 2016 - Orange Wine
"An incredibly lively example of Rkatsiteli. Right from the moment you pop the cork you are surrounded with a hue of dried apricots, yellow peaches, red apple skin and nectarine pith. It has an intensity on the palate with a touch of tannin and a whish of acidity that helps to keep it all balanced. A long finish that goes on for moments on end with hints of candied almond and apricot loaf."
1 X Kisi 2016 - Orange Wine
"What an interesting wine that this is. It has a wonderful amber glow to it with an equal intensity of aromatics. Cooked pears, dried apple slices, with hints of rosemary and candied honeysuckle. As it opens up, a really beautiful orange and peach marmalade-like flavour comes out on both the nose and palate. Still tannic grip with less overt acidity as the Rkatsiteli yet it still holds it together well. Drinking well now and will no doubt go on living for about another 5 years."
1 X Chinuri 2016 - White Wine
Not what you would ever expect from Georgia. It has a beautiful elegance to it. Lime flower, daisys, lemon sherbet, and a touch of white nectarines. On the palate there is a crisp green apple flavour with more of that lemon and lime aspect. Plenty of acidity as well as fruit intensity on the palate that gives way to a silky finish."
1 X Mtsvane 2016 - Orange Wine
"Such an incredible nose on this wine. It has a bloom of beeswax, candied honeysuckle petals, fresh daisies, tangerine pith and fresh golden queen peaches. Fleshy on the palate with decent acidity with just a slight tannic grip. A long finish with flavours of peaches, orange marmalade and just a hint of cherry wood smoke."
1 X Tsitska 2016 - White Wine
"On picking up the glass (this was blind) I initially thought that this was a new-wave Albarino from the new world, like California. What a surprise! This Georgian dry white wine has a load of green melon, lime pith, and green apple. The palate has green pear, white nectarine and lemon sorbet. Their is plenty of acidity and body here, all in a fine balance to the fruit ripeness. A great white wine!"
1 X Saperavi 2016 - Red Wine
"For lovers of the wines of Valpolicella, then this shall certainly tickle their fancy. It has a great nose of red cherries, nutmeg, clove, poached red plums, coffee grounds and dark liquorice. The palate is full with a decent tannic grip but balanced with decent acidity. This certainly is better after having a breathing (decanting) for about an hour or so. The palate has more black fruits, than red, which carry on to the long finish. Lovely."
