Diamond Creek Winery are one of the notable geniuses that started up Napa Valley and it is partly thanks to them that Cabernet Sauvignon is one of the leading grapes from the California region. Where some producers give you fruit and oak with no class, Diamond Creek have a purity and focus that balances the very ripe Cabernet Sauvignon fruit - an aspect not often found outside of Bordeaux. Not cheap but these are wines that would easily knock over many a First Growth Bordeaux!
