Forge Cellars is one of the younger wineries in upstate New York in the Finger Lakes region. It is headed by the three 'forgers': Louis Barruol, Rick Rainey and Justin Boyette. Louis Barruol is the winemaker and is of French fame being the winemaker and owner of Chateau de Ste Cosme in Gigondas, Rick Rainey is the general manager and viticulturalist, and Justin Boyette is the secondary winemaker. They only create wines made from Riesling and Pinot Noir with a goal to create the greatest wines possible from these two grapes in New York State - so far they are succeeding.
