Rheingau
The Rheingau may not be the most famous region in all of Germany but it is indeed the largest and most important. Why is it important? It holds 2/3s of Germany's total Riesling and a whooping 1/3 of the world's total Riesling. It is also home to many of the oldest wineries in the world - Schloss Johannisberg being the oldest.
