Classic aromas of Biancolella are: Pineapple, Yellow Peach, Almonds, Yellow Nectarine and Lemon
Biancolella is a white grape varietal that hails from Napoli in Campania a region in the south of Italy. It has been here since the 19th century where it has spread to the island of Ischia in the bay of Napoli – where it now is mostly planted.
Biancolella is best suited at higher altitudes which allows for it to retain acidity and produce wines that are fresher and more zesty. The resulting wines of this grape are full of tropical and stone-fruit flavours such as pineapple, peach and yellow nectarine along with almonds and white florals. It is usually blended with other grapes from the region adding acidity and tropical fruit aromas to the blends.
