Cortese
Classic aromas of Cortese are: Lime, Lemon, Green Apple and Yellow Peach
A white grape varietal that is often overlooked. It is planted most predominately in the region of Piemonte – the very same region that it was first mentioned in, in 1614. It has a long-standing history with Piemonte yet it has a very minor reputation.
It is mostly produced in the region of Gavi – an often over-cropped and bland white wine. The best examples of Cortese produce wines that are refreshing thanks to their high acidity with flavours of lemon, lime, green apple and mineral flavours.
