Falanghina
Classic aromas of Falanghina are: Pear, Yellow Nectarine, Apricot, Green Apple and Lemon
Falanghina is a white grape from southern Italy. It is a particularly old grape first being mentioned in a poem in 1666. It is planted widely, and mainly, in the region of Campania on the west coast of southern Italy. The best wines are made in the specific area of Falerno del Massico DOC.
Falanghina gives wines that are medium-bodied with medium-high acidity. They have white stone-fruit and tree-fruit flavours such as white pear, nectarine and apricots alongside green apples. It is practically solely fermented in in stainless steel tanks with very few examples spending any time in oak – those these wines showcase all these aromas plus vanilla bean.
