Uva Rilla
Classic aromas of Uva Rilla are: Orange, Baked Lemon and Yellow Plum
Uva Rilla (aka Arilla) is a rare white grape varietal of southern Italy. It is almost exclusively planted on the island of Ischia – off the coast of Napoli.
Generally speaking Uva Rilla can be over-produced and giving bland wines with a real lack of complexity. Uva Rilla is ofen blended with other local varietals of the island such as Biancolella. The best examples of Uva Rilla, though few exist, are sweet wines made in the passito style.
