Pinot Meunier isn't as well known as Pinot Noir or Chardonnay in sparkling wine regions, to consumers at least, but it is almost equally as important as those two. Pinot Meunier is the red grape varietal which provides the backbone of many a Champagne or Methode Traditionelle wine across the globe.
