Tesch Winery

Tesch are one of the most exciting wineries in Germany at the moment. The winery has been going in the Nahe since 1723 but it is Martin Tesch, the recent son to take over, who has brought his family's winery to fame. Martin took over in the late 1990s when he father was producing well over 50 different wines from many grape varietals, in 2001 he took the bold move to rip out 11 ha of various grapes and replanted with Riesling. Dry Riesling is now the focus of the Tesch winery with Terroir at the forefront. The move towards quality and not quantity has, unsurprisingly, helped bring Tesch winery to fame.
