Grenache Blanc
Classic aromas of Grenache Blanc are: Green Pear, Passionfruit, Red Apple and Honeycomb
Grenache Blanc, or Garnacha Blanca, is predominately home in the southern regions of France. It is one of the recommended varietals used in the multitude of blends in many of the regions spread across the Languedoc-Roussillon region, as well as to a lesser extent in the southern Rhone valley.
After France, Spain is the home to this wonderful grape. Here, as you could possibly tell, it is called Garnacha Blanca. Like in France, Garnacha Blanca is never seen as the predominant white grape varietal very rarely being made into a single varietal wine. Instead it is used in blends to give body and structure to other more zippy and aromatically-inclined grapes. In Spain it is used in the regions of Rioja and Priorat predominately.
There is also a minor amount of Grenache Blanc spread across California and South Africa.
Grenache Blanc produces wines that are full in body and filled flavours of ripe green and white fruits. Greengages, white pear, white passionfruit, red apples and honeydew melon are most predominant.
