Piedirosso
Classic aromas of Piedirosso are: Red Plum, Red Cherry and Raspberry Jam
Piedirosso is a red grape varietal with an ancient history in the region of Campania in southern Italy. It was first mentioned here in the early 16th century.
Piedirosso is often blended with the grape varietal: Aglianico, but is increasingly producing singe varietal wines. Within Campania, Piedirosso is mostly cultivated around Napoli and blended with Aglianico in the wines of: Cilento and Falerno del Massico. In blends it will add in acidity and aromatics.
Single varietal wines of Piedirosso have medium bodies with soft tannins, and bright red fruit flavours of plum and cherry.
