Susumaniello is a red grape varietal that hails from Puglia in southern Italy. It is legally allowed to produced in all of the sub-regions of Puglia but is yet to gain an appellation status that makes a single varietal wine of Susumaniello.
The best examples of Susumaniello are akin to Syrah in flavour and body. They will have a medium-full body with moderate acidity and flavours of red and black fruit flavours.
