Gewurztraminer, Gruner Veltliner, Welschriesling and Pinot Blanc
"After a tough 2016 vintage that removed a large chunk of grapes due to hail the single vineyards that are usually reserved for the 'family members' have been blended together to form the Family Reunion wines. This white is made from all of the grapes which were picked together but had only had a third (randomly chosen not by varietal) to be fermented on skins for 3 weeks. The wine is then re-blended and full-fermentation in 500 litre barrels and left in there for another 11 months following. The resulting white is a full bodied juicy white with layers of flavour. Green apple, white pear, fresh yellow peaches and lemon balm. The texture is akin to a Viognier or dry Gewurztraminer, so fairly weighty, but it has some decent acidity too. A truly delicious gem!"
