Lombardia
Lombardia is the region in the central north of Italy between the two larger and more famous regions of Piemonte and Veneto. Lombardia is almost always known as the home to sparkling wines - these are made in the sub-region of Franciacorta. The wines of Franciacorta are Italy's answer to Champagne with many fantastic examples being produced here.
